WompWorthy.com was the result of 20 weeks of show binging, courtesy of Joel Tornquist, Drew Hostetler and Anna Wasilewska. Having gone to their first Bassnectar show together in November 2011, the trio formed and held a strong connection to the creative process of EDM and the artists that worked countless hours to provide listeners with this fantastically elaborate music. Following the stadium filled experience, they decided to maximize on any and every opportunity to catch artists as they pass through their hometown of Chicago. Dedicating weeks upon weeks of their lives towards this newfound passion, the end of their show spree was in sight, though despite having seen well over 30+ shows over 20 weeks, there was a feeling of emptiness that hung in the air.
As their music libraries expanded, so did their ambitions towards helping the ranks of unrecognized, up-and-coming artists in the industry. They became frustrated with the constant circulation of tired and repetitive music, chipping away at their desires to continue attending shows. Frustrated with the biased direction of popular EDM in both the show and music promotion scene, WompWorthy.com was born to give credit where credit is due!
